JILAWAN BUNNIMIT

{aka Miss Cake!}

Jilawan is a circus act combo of painter, seamstress and graphic designer, and "not far from a freak show" she jokes. Her inspirations and mediums all combine seamlessly tumbling over and around one another in the world she creates.

Bright colors, playful imagery composed of everyday objects and imaginary creatures convey a sense of lightheartedness with a hint of irony. Her art has a simple appeal with bold colors, and modern and vintage influences. Often working with more of an illustrative style providing humorous commentary to things she observes or experiences.

Having been somewhat shy about her work she goes by the name Miss Cake, "Some of the best work comes from making mistakes and I like that. So it's like a mistake, but sweeter". Drawn toward installation concepts influenced by her interior design background, she uses furniture, sewn elements, and murals in an effort to connect the viewer and the environment, and ends up branding everything she touches with her distinctive flair. She ends up creating more than just pretty art on a wall, and creates a setting that people feel drawn to and leave with an experience. Check out Miss Cake's Blog
